Why choose ITS?
In the Stars Surrogacy is a private surrogacy coordination/ case management service. Choosing private coordination over a traditional surrogacy agency allows you to save significant cost, all while receiving the most personal, transparent, and supportive care throughout your journey to parenthood.
ITS follows the highest industry ethical standards when it comes to surrogate requirements and processes.
We understand the long journey you’ve been through already, and will guide you and your future surrogate through all of the milestones of the process with the most supportive and expedited care.
From matching with a surrogate through delivery of your future baby, we are here to help.
The Cost
The surrogacy journey can be very pricey, and ITS strives to make its services as affordable and efficient as possible to help offset the total cost.
The total costs of the journey include IVF clinic screening and transfer fees for the surrogate, attorney fees for contract drafting and parentage orders, escrow fee, base compensation and reimbursements for the surrogate, and insurance premiums and deductibles. Current estimates in 2025 range from $130-200,000.
Ethical guidelines require funds to be held and disbursed using a third-party escrow account to protect both the intended parent and the surrogate. We work with the most reputable surrogacy escrow company in the industry to ensure your funds are protected.
Whereas most large, full-service agencies charge a fee anywhere from $30k to $200k for the agency services alone, ITS offers private surrogacy coordination starting at just $12,500 for surrogate screening and on-call case management through the entire journey. The Process
-
ITS thoroughly screens surrogates prior to clearing them to match to ensure they are an appropriate fit. We strive to allow transparency and autonomy through this process for both surrogates and intended parents. We will take into account your match preferences and fertility clinic requirements and set up a coordinator-supported match call to ensure all parties are aligned.
If you already have a surrogate in mind for the journey, we will screen her and facilitate the match discussions.
-
We adhere to the highest standards of psychological and medical requirements set forth by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. All surrogates will attend a comprehensive session with a licensed mental health professional where they will discuss mental health background/ risk level, motivation, and suitability. As an intended parent, you will also be required to meet with a mental health professional to ensure all parties are prepared for the process.
ITS will support in scheduling your surrogate’s medical screening appointment through your fertility clinic, which typically includes blood tests, ultrasound screenings, and drug tests of her and her partner. We assist with booking travel and coordinating the review of the screening results.
-
Both intended parents and surrogates are required to have individual, third-party legal representation to draft a gestational surrogacy agreement and establish legally binding parental rights prior to the birth of the baby. We will help refer you both to licensed, specialty reproductive law attorneys in the surrogate’s state of residence to ensure this process goes quickly and smoothly. Once the gestational surrogacy agreement is finalized, signed, and notarized by both parties, you will be cleared to move forward with the embryo transfer cycle.
Insurances will be put into place prior to embryo transfer to ensure all parties are protected against unexpected expense. These insurance policies include but are not limited to: private medical insurance, accidental death policies (which can cover both surrogates and babies), bedrest coverage, and loss of organ coverage. We work with the top insurance broker in the industry for the best policies and rates.
-
ITS will work closely with your IVF clinic and surrogate to ensure everyone is well-prepared and well-informed on the process. We will be in frequent contact with the surrogate to ensure she is able to closely follow any medication protocols or lifestyle restrictions required by the clinic. We will also book any necessary travel, and help facilitate any clinic-ordered bedrest following the transfer.
-
Your and your surrogate will be well-supported by your case manager throughout the pregnancy to ensure all goes smoothly. We will coordinate with the surrogate’s local OBGYN, delivery hospital, and other providers to ensure all appropriate medical appointments are followed.
-
We will coordinate with both parties’ attorneys to ensure the parentage orders are completed in a timely manner. These documents will all be provided to the social work department at the surrogate’s delivery hospital to ensure all parties are prepared to welcome a surrogate birth.
We will also facilitate a birth plan between you and your surrogate that aligns with everyone’s preferences and needs.
Your case manager will be there to support all parties through the delivery to ensure you can focus on bonding with your new baby.
-
ITS will continue the support past delivery so you can focus on the special first moments with your baby, and your surrogate can focus on recovery. We will ensure any medical bills are wrapped up, and facilitate the closure of the escrow account at the appropriate time.
